The following is an example of a speed session that can be used 1-2 times per week for field sport athletes. It follows a four week progression.

    Hi there everyone!

Im looking to plan 2 speed sessions around power day and quickness day.

Power days consist of: Greater Speed Strength load
Quickness days consist of : Unloaded footspeed, mechanics and agility focus.

Both days would have warm-ups with mobility, multidirectional, straight line drills

Would you have hurdles and ladder drills as part of both days?

Quickness days would include the following
    Warm-up
    Hurdles
    ladders
    Evasion
    Cone based agility

Power days would include the following
    Warm -up
    Hurdles & ladders?
    Speed strength/plyometrics
    Resisted sprinting

Which category would acceleration and max velocity sprints fall into?

Im looking to use a 4wk template similar to damians attached speed sessions so any ideas or example sessions for each the power and quickness days be great.

    Regards Ben
