Is there anything that is used by Rugby strength coaches in NZ and/or AUS to obtain objective feedback about bar speed and power output, similar to what is obtained with a Tendo unit?

GymAware from Kinetic Performance Technology is commonly used

personally I like the tendo unit – its rawer sure but its robust too

if you are a tiny bit technically minded you can make your own system using standard range force transducers

    Completely off topic :

As a young buck interested in trying to see whether I was making any progress etc, once asked a coach once what he used to measure performance etc …. his answer was as honest and true as it was short …

    Hey Guys
I am the designer of the GymAware unit so feel free to ask any questions.
In answer to the original question this comparison between Tendo and GymAware may be of interest.
