Hi all,
I am working with some talented 15/16 year old rugby players and wondering what are your views on how much and what types of weight training they should do? I am currently working on basic lifting movements with bar and small weights only, e.g. squats, deadlift, bench, olympic lift progressions etc. on a 2/3 times per week basis. Would appreciate some tips anyone!!!!!
Cheers

Go to http://www.danbakerstrength.com, he has some great stuff there for training young athletes in his free web articles section on the left hand side. Be sure to download his explanatory notes. As well as the NSCA site, also visit http://www.startingstrength.wikia.com for very good, in depth techinique pointers on all the core lifts. Click on “The Main Lifts” on the right hand side. It’s great stuff!
