I would love to be training in the Getstrength Gym but with a 180km round trip it doesn't make it practical. In saying that, I would be doing mainly bar in hand work anyway and there aren't to many Gym's that don't have bars, weights and squat/bench racks or two so hopefully this program will translate to … [Read more...] about HOW NOT TO KILL YOURSELF ( STRENGTH TRAINING FOR MASTERS) Day 1 Week 1

Why do we do what we do? We are seen as coaches for most part of the time and there for get the same treatment; the team does well and we are the last people to be congratulated or even noticed but if that same team does poorly; the remarks and questions start with if they were fit enough, strong enough or quick enough? Yes we are seen as coaches but shouldn’t we be seen as the educators (managers and facilitators); the people who teach athletes everyday that talent is not enough anymore, the … [Read more...] about Talent is never enough! – Diederick

Whatever time you have you can plan the work around your … [Read more...] about Off Season Training Plans

John Rahme, strength mindset, THE GOOD AND THE GETTING BETTER

He stands looking at the loaded bar. His mindset is positive. His belief and confidence in his ability is focused. “I will lift this” A statement using correct language is made. In front of the bar he stands, making his way to the bar, he places both hands wide on the bar. His hands tighten around the bar. A forward step he takes dipping under the bar and jams his traps as hard as he can into the bar. His position is good, standing up, the bar is lifted off the Monolift and now the load is … [Read more...] about THE GOOD AND THE GETTING BETTER. Part 3
